About the Artist

Cathy is a sculpture artist based north of Auckland whose intricate works are created entirely from thread, built layer by layer. Often mistaken for real objects until viewed up close, her art balances realism with interpretation, inviting reflection on beauty, the fragility of nature, and our responsibility to protect it. With a long history of volunteering for New Zealand’s Department of Conservation, her practice extends her passion for preserving the natural world. Cathy has won multiple awards, regularly exhibits across New Zealand, and is represented internationally, including by a London gallery showcasing her work at the New York art fair.
